Happy Easter Weekend

Image

Well today is Maunday Thursday and i am more than happy to share with you this flower! Guess it symbolizes the fact that despite all the schedules to meet, the exams, the errands and checklists to finish, this weekend will be a great one for me. Bonding with friends, doing various activities and hanging out with my siblings(my sister goes to a boarding school and she is home for the weekend). It is more than I could ask for. Sometimes we get wrapped up in our daily lives that we actually forget to live, something I am entirely against. I pray that as the Easter holiday mood sets in, take time to look around and notice what and who is around you. It is the little things that truly matter in the end.  What are you looking forward to this weekend?

Happy Holidays and  May God bless you

4 Simple goals

Image

I saw this post here and really liked it so I decided to take up the challenge. After a long time of thought, I have come up with my list  of four simple goals that I want to accomplish before 2013, God willing.

1. Practice guitar

Well first and foremost, I do know how to play the guitar. My problem is that I’m at that stationary stage where I have mastereda hand full of minors and the majors A B C D E F G H(really sophie H?) Ok I got a little carreid away, but thats all. I do not want to settel for just that. And so I have challenged myself to learn more chords and proceed to the advanced level and learn the capp, the suspended, sharp and minor chords and practice them daily. At least by the end of this year, i should have learned 10 new chords.

2. Buy a camera

I have talked to a number of bloggers and they have advised me to invest in a good camera. So my aim is to work for a camera, a professional one and I believe I can make it with the Lord’s help. I am working with my little sister and we are so excited.

3. Reach 40 posts

I started this blog in September and there have been ups and downs but I consider these stepping stones and learning experiences. I would like to improve the blog and add more entries and my goal is to at least have 40 posts before 2013.

4.Make an oven-toaster cake

I know this sounds silly but I want to experiment with our oven toaster. The reason I am saying this is because I have used this toaster more than anyone can imagine. Most of my experimental recipes are made in that toaster, so making this cake will be a dream come true and I cant wait to get my creativity on!

Miracles

I cannot believe September and October are over(where is time running?!). It has been a good time though; full of surprises here and there and I’m officially two months here.  It has not been easy keeping up with the schedule because of so many things tying me up but I thank God that we all have made it through. When I first started, I was a little bit–more than a little bit–overwhelmed with a lot of things  and it took a lot of energy for me to finally get up on my feet and start this blog. A lot of thoughts were running through my mind and I had to make choices and decisions which was not easy for me. I am grateful  to the Lord for helping me pass through these past two months blog wise.

One thing I really want to talk about, which is one of the foundations for this blog, is miracles. Miracles are everywhere, anywhere and all around us.  Some we are privileged to see, others pass us by as we are busy trying to live. It would be nice if we stopped at one time and observed everything around us because you’ll be surprised to see that there are thousands of things going on spontaneously that we would not have a chance to see with our busy lives. The blooming of the smallest rarest flower, an ant passing you by, the wind blowing in your hair, that beautiful glorious morning sun in your face(I am madly in love with), the raindrop on your forehead, that laugh from your loved one, the air you breathe, I could go on and on but you all know what I mean. All these are miracles we take for granted. The sad part is when we finally realize what is going on, it’s often times already too late. I hope that in these coming months of November and December , we will be able to focus on those little things that we think are insignificant and learn lessons from them because miracles are not just about people getting healed… they are in all the small things around us.
