Doing What We Love(V-day Story)

snapshot-148I didn’t know what to name this post ha!

Lately I have been so stressed out…in a good kind of way. (I realize its time I talked about the valentines project I mentioned in the post before.

It all started last year. We came up with a crazy idea of hosting a dinner party for valentines because nothing fun really ever happens around here. So my lil sis was like “hey we could host a party!” and I was like “yeah. Where exactly?” and she was like “I dunno.” We realized it was way too huge a project to carry on with limited funds! And so we thought and thought and thought…and thought till a greater idea came up!

We would make valentine packages for clients and let them pre-order the packages so we can deliver them on the V-day. And so we started the journey with a lot of fear and ambitiousness we pressed on and on got multiple set backs, last-minute scares and heart attacks! But all in all it was a success, way beyond what we even imagined! We got supportive customers who urged us to “continue doing great things”.

This year, we did the same thing(again), but with a better, more well-researched, and professional approach. And the more challenges we got along the way  which were learning lessons for us. This time a lot of crafting was involved. We had to purchase craft paper,  and many other supplies to make paper bags, handmade cards and tags, hand painted and written business cards(the first batch ever!), wrapping the chocolate, the cupcakes and so much more. it was exhaustive but it was worth it in the end.

One thing we learnt through this all is that where your heart it, you will be willing to exert(physics anyone? ha!) energy no matter the strain! We realized we love crafting(duh!). It has been two months of crafting heaven for me because after the venture was over, we found ourselves restless!

There is truly joy in doing what you love  and an absolute bonus when you get paid for  the work done. Every piece of work will come out shining with that personal touch. With this discovery, we are determined to do more of what we love.

What have you discovered about yourself lately?

🙂

A Milestone Hit

DSC05088

So yesterday I hit the huge milestone! (ahem two-zero anyone?) and five years earlier, I thought hitting the huge two-zero would be absolutely magical(teenage naivety!) and well, to be honest, It wasn’t. I had class from 7am to 4pm sans breakfast and lunch(not fun at all) and had to run errands here and there. But when I finally settled down after the day, I realized I am a blessed girl. All the  sweet birthday messages on FB, the hugs at school, my little sister going an extra mile to make the day special(massage yey!) and the sweet video that my friends made for me was all so overwhelmingly beautiful. I didn’t have a party(never have ha!), but realizing I have people I can count on, people who love me, a roof over my head  and the fact that I am still alive till now is more than I could ask for. And I am grateful! Really!

I can’t wait what this year has in store for me(some pretty crazy and amazing things have started happening!).

Thanks to you all who took the effort to make my day worth remembering! Lots of love and hugs!

And just because I can’t stop watching the amazing video that my friends sent me, I thought I would share this one with you all. Perfectly describes me in a beautiful way

Have a great weekend

🙂

LOL with Sharon Clause

lolwithronnie

Despite the vastness of the  blogworld, one way or another, we still find genuine people. People who value life, friendships and aren’t afraid to acknowledge that life is full of imperfections but still press on to become better people. It is people like these that make blogging worth it because we know we can relate  one way or another. I have been reading Ronnie’s blog for a long time and she inspires me to be a better person. Here is her view on LOL.

lol for blog

Hi! My name is Sharon Clause but my friends call me Ronnie, hence my blog, freely ronnie ;] To share a little bit about myself, I am currently a senior in college, a part time nanny, and a full time dreamer. My loves in life are fresh air, messy hair, my heated blanket, juice, and books full of truth. My dislikes in life are rushed mornings, stereotypes, chapped lips, my recent discovery that I can’t eat gluten, and weekends without adventure.

As someone who has dedicated my life (and blog) to pursuing a free and authentic lifestyle, I have definitely experienced both the triumphs and failures of attempting to live on the outside as who I am on the inside. Our society places so much pressure on us to produce a certain amount of valuable material while looking a certain way and absorbing a certain mindset. It is this very culture that we live in that motivates me to run in the opposite direction.

Similarly, the exact blogosphere that I am a part of today is the same environment that first sucked me into an endless downward spiral of insecurity and negativity towards myself, my closet, my body, my wealth, etc. I fear that many blogs have turned into just another #filtered facebook status that strives to spotlight the perfections and conceal the less than ideal. To me, this is not living out loud. It’s living life as a magazine…cutting and pasting the perfectly posed parts for all to see and hiding the rest under the carpet.

I have come to believe in a life without physical, emotional, or mental chains. I believe in a life that is authentic and at times, transparent. I believe in a life full of truth. And I believe in a life with the purpose of serving, blessing, and encouraging others… no matter the personal cost.

In an effort to pursue this life, I find inspiration within my own dreams and desires.Going to other blogs or pinterest for inspiration doesn’t originate from you and is therefore, not a full reflection of who you are. So I find inspiration from nature, from pieces of art, from my past, my struggles, and my achievements. My friends, my fears, my discoveries, and my cravings. In order for you to live a life out loud, I’d suggest doing the same. Because in order to live an authentic life outwardly, you first have to know and love who are you are the inside. Have alone time frequently. Get to know yourself. And I promise, you’ll find out that you are far more inspiring than you probably think.

Live freely. Live out loud.
