Q&A Time

DSC00306

I was reading Jessica’s recent post when I realized she tagged me in this Q&A and I took up the challenge. So here goes!
01//if you could live any place in the world, where would it be?

I would love to live in Tuscany because I think it is a place full of culture and character

02//what do you miss most about being a kid?

I miss having to live in the moment and not really having to worry what tomorrow will bring

03//who or what inspires you?

I am inspired by true beauty and true beauty is wholeness. I am inspired by dreamers and wanderers. I am also inspired by people who embrace their true beauty and who see beauty in the rarest of things.

04//where do you see yourself 10 years from now?

Ah well it’s a little dim right now but I would love to have  created a job for myself and crossed off most of the goals I have.

05//your 50th birthday party- who’s invited?

Everyone I hold dear to my heart

06//what are your strengths?

I consider myself a friendly person ha! Oh and I can smile(does that count?)

07//what are things you want to improve on?

Well a lot like letting go of procrastination’s hold on me

08//places you’ve traveled to?

The pearl of the orient seas, UAE and the Congo/Uganda border

09//what is a routine you could never do without?

Morning talk with my heavenly Father

10//what was an act of kindness shown towards you that caught you by surprise?

Well I went for a lecture five minutes to time and usually the room is packed because everyone wants to get a seat. So as I entered, I knew I had no choice but to stand in the back for two full hours (which really is a no-no considering my health condition). As I was making my way to the back, a girl called me and told me she had a chair saved for me. I didn’t know her name and am sure she didn’t know mine but what she did was surprisingly amazing. She saved me having to worry about leaving the lecture half way because I can’t stand for long and for that, I am grateful.

11//list some of the best times in your life in less than one minute. ready…go! (don’t cheat!)

  • Having to complete a novel manuscript
  • Having crazy fashion shows when we were kids
  • Writing in my journal
  • Me- moments

And so we are keeping the ball rolling and if you would like, , Latonya, Amy,Taylor, Courtney,  Nelly, Ronnie, Tammy, KikiDiane, Jessica and Eb please answer these questions I made and have fun!

01//if you could live any place in the world, where would it be?

02//Describe yourself in one sentence?

03//who or what inspires you?

04//What’s your ultimate fanatical dream/goal?

05//Three reasons why you blog?

06//Pink or Peach and why?

07//Guilty pleasure?

08//places you’ve traveled to?

09//what is your morning routine?

10//what was an act of kindness shown towards you that caught you by surprise?

11//A personal flaw you love?

A Milestone Hit

DSC05088

So yesterday I hit the huge milestone! (ahem two-zero anyone?) and five years earlier, I thought hitting the huge two-zero would be absolutely magical(teenage naivety!) and well, to be honest, It wasn’t. I had class from 7am to 4pm sans breakfast and lunch(not fun at all) and had to run errands here and there. But when I finally settled down after the day, I realized I am a blessed girl. All the  sweet birthday messages on FB, the hugs at school, my little sister going an extra mile to make the day special(massage yey!) and the sweet video that my friends made for me was all so overwhelmingly beautiful. I didn’t have a party(never have ha!), but realizing I have people I can count on, people who love me, a roof over my head  and the fact that I am still alive till now is more than I could ask for. And I am grateful! Really!

I can’t wait what this year has in store for me(some pretty crazy and amazing things have started happening!).

Thanks to you all who took the effort to make my day worth remembering! Lots of love and hugs!

And just because I can’t stop watching the amazing video that my friends sent me, I thought I would share this one with you all. Perfectly describes me in a beautiful way

Have a great weekend

LOL With Jessica Acton

Jess1

Sorry for the mini hiatus! I been caught up with lots (LOTS) of work, doing assignments, tests, and preparing for graduation that  it consumed all the time I could possibly have had! But happily I have Jessica Acton of jessthetics with me here sharing with us her take on LOL.

lol for blog

Hello! My name is Jess

I’ve just graduated from my philosophy degree, so I’m currently living at home doing bits and bobs of temporary work until I can land a “proper” job.

I like my ginger bunny rabbit Archie, going for walks in the countryside, and making things. I like fluffy jumpers, dressing up with no-where to go, and I love everything elephant themed. I don’t like the sound of cutlery scraping against plates, having hot feet or getting up early.

I understand living out loud to be living in an intentional way. It’s about thinking about what you do and doing it because you believe in it, because you want to, or because it’s contributing to positive change.

Having just graduated, I have no permanent plans and in theory my life can be whatever I want it to be. The possibilities are endless. This leaves me with almost too much choice, and this uncertainty has challenged me to think about what I want and why I want it. I’m learning to stop worrying about the fact that my life isn’t what I thought it would be, stop comparing myself to others and worrying that I’m “losing” the post-graduation life competition, and just enjoy each day for what it is. I’m learning that setting myself long to do lists each day isn’t making me happy, so I’m going to make the most of my freedom by using this time to do things that I enjoy and spend more time with people I love. I’ve been volunteering, blogging, crafting and going on days out with my mum. So, I guess what I’m trying to say is that living out loud isn’t just about reaching towards big future goals (although that’s important) it’s also about making right now count.

I’m inspired by people who are honest and open and live the life they want to live without worrying too much what others think of it. I’m also hugely inspired by people who are creative and by people who fight for causes they really believe in.

Think about whether you’re fulfilled by what you’re doing every day, and if you’re not, change it. Dreams and goals are important but they’re also flexible. Take time every day to do things that make you feel good – volunteer for a charity you love, make your favourite food for breakfast or write a letter to a friend.

The best advice I can give is probably something I learned from my dad – don’t take anything too seriously!

J
